Currently we have not decided on how or where application developer will access the help viewer? * Will it be linked through the chameleon adim. * a separate web alias * or both We need to address this issue by RC 1
This is an excellent point. I'd like to see the help viewer (as well as the other documents) linked from as many *logical* places as possible. I have a copy of Chameleon installed through MS4W and would definitely like to see them linked from the * Chameleon Documentation and * Chameleon Sample Applications pages listed under the current "Applications/Chameleon 1.99 Beta URLS" heading off the "main" MS4W page. I'm not sure that linking from the Admin page makes sense.
Darren, your suggestion is a good idea for people who plan to use ms4w. My issue was with the none windows people. This is why I suggested the admin page of chameleon.
Changed target to 1.99 Final.
I added the help viewer to the ms4w index page and is in cvs. But the question I had in comment #2 has still not been answered.
Adding it to the ms4w main page is a good idea. Aside from that, I don't see the need to add it anywhere else, ms4w or not. An index.phtml page will be added to the help viewer so it will be very logical how to launch the help viewer. Anyone installing chameleon will know of the help folder and can always choose to make their own link to it. That's my 2 cents.
This is something that needs to be included in the installation notes (i.e. how to set up aliases for various components of Chameleon) for both the windows and linux installation guides. It should also be referenced in the administrators guide and the users guide (at least the first time the online help is referred to).
I believe this bug has been addressed in the Chameleon documentation. Setting to Closed.
