Ok, Darren has found a little glitch with respect to the index page for ms4w. I am sure you geeks are all aware of this, but the url link to validate weather mapserv_36.exe and 40.exe in the cgi-bin is not valid for a windows installation package. Currently in ms4w_0.6.zip the URL's on the index page are http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv_36 http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv_40 This I am told by Zak is valid for a Linux machine, but not Windows. And since this installer package is called MapServer For Windows (ms4w) I think it should be reflected. Also, we should not leave the guess work to the user. The URL's should be for Windows: http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv_36.exe http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv_40.exe
v0.9 contains the following links: mapserv_36.exe mapserv_40.exe mapserv_42.exe mapserv_421.exe All links are valid on the opening index.phtml page. Personally, if u ask me MS4W should only contain one version of mapserv/phpmapscript...it's way too confusing to beginning users to see all of the versions. their question: "which one do u use?" Anyway, guess that's for a later date.
Verified on Windows XP ms4w 20040720.
