Description From 2004-02-18 13:33:18
It would be nice to have the scale factor widget in the Map Preview area,
because I find it difficult to determine the relative zoom/scale Min/Max values
to set in my classes. If I am having issues, I am sure many users would also.
There is no relative point of reference to what the scale factor is in the map.
I realize the scale factor is not true to what the map is, but it give a
starting point to determine the scale values for the styled class within mapserver.

Chris...

the scale of the map is displayed int the info area below the map preview in
maplab. it cannot be used to set scale, but just read scale... is this what you
are talking about for SECT?

My comments are only related to the Standalone SECTStudio. All bugs related to
SECTStudio, are related to the Component SECT(Studio).

I have not really seen/tested SECT in MapLab, so I have no real comment about this.

Saying this if the plan it to continue to have a Sand alone product SECTStudio,
this bug is still valid. If this will not be a product and will only live in
MapLab than this bug may be invalid. Until this is considered.

Anytime the Summary heading starts with [SECTStudio-Main],
[SECTStudio-Symbolizer], [SECTStudio-Fontalizer] or [SECTStudio-Classifier] I am
only thinking in terms of SECTStudio as a standalone product.

sorry chris... I was just using the scale tool in MapLab as an example to
clarify the functionality. The question was supposed to be... "would you like
the SECT scale tool to be the same as scale tool in the maplab preview?" but if
you have not used maplab3.0 then I guess that's a silly question...

again, sorry for the confusion.

Sorry for the miss understand.... I have used the map preview in maplab3, it is
the same as it was generally in maplab2.1. This feature you speak of is actually
represented in the bounding box widget, which is found in the SECTStudio interface.

maybe what we should have is a scale bar and scale factor widget below the map.
