Line Symbolizer feature DASH Pattern: dash|gap.... 1) What are we going to do about this feature? 2) Since I do not believe that the is in the sld spec, should it realy be present in SECTStudio Line Symbolizer? It is a feature for MapLab3 mapserver Line feature types in a mapfile. 3) If we plan to keep it in the interface it should have two modes. It should be grayed out if you are building sld documents in SECT Studio and active in MapLab.
this is part of SLD and mapserver already supports it. Unfortunately, the dash pattern can only be specified as part of a symbol, and MapScript does not support access to symbol objects yet. Assefa is/has been working on this and as soon as it is implemented, the dash pattern will be hooked up to it and it will work.
PAUL AND ZAK, WHAT IS THE IMPORTANTCE OF THIS BUG FOR THE RELEASE TO CLIENT? MY OPINION IS THAT IT SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE LINE SYMBOLIZER INTERFACE...
Functions related to the symbol object are available in mapscript. It should be possible now to use the interface to create dash patterns.
Assefa: are those functions new? I'm almost sure that I've been a bug in the MapServer bugzilla asking for SymbolObj functions recently. Could you please fix or update that bug?
It was bug 241 in Mapserver/php-mapscript module. I have closed it.
Just let me know when I can get the 41.dll, thanks.
