It is possible to draw a ROI after a session has expired.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Load "sample_roi.phtml"  application.
2. After an hour or so, click on "ZoomIn".
3. The "Your session has expired." message should appear.
4. Select the "ROI" tab.
5. Select "Define a rectangular ROI.
6. Draw a shape in the map preview.
7. Shape appears.

Changed target to 1.99 RC 1.

I believe that this has been resolved, the ROI image now states that the session
has expired.
